Dear Kamelya,
Happy ten months - a little delayed but no less heartfelt. It was a big month pal! You started pulling yourself up, cruising around on your own and started talking even more! Oh, and you got even prettier.
Everyone that meets you is charmed. They say how beautiful you are. They say, "What a happy baby!" and ask "Does she ever cry?" And we smile and say, yes, she's a very happy baby. Then we remember how you cried nonstop for the first three months of your life and man, are we glad that part is over!
So, your words! Your new words are okay, hi, book, and maaaybe papa and byebye. You have a sort of scratchy little voice that we love very much. You are very expressive and make all kinds of silly faces.
You really love books. When we read you one you particularly like, you sure do show it. I can out you down with a stack of your books and you will just sit there going through them one by one on your own. The Turkish ones are still your favorites.
You are so close to walking by yourself now. If we hold onto just one of your hands, you can walk so quickly and surely. We are very excited that you'll soon be walking...and a little nervous that you'll soon be walking.
Although you do get shy sometimes and bury your chubby little face in our necks, in the last couple weeks you have gotten more comfortable with new people. You were smitten with both your Great Uncle Ken and your Aunt Margie who visited this week. You've gotten to hang out with your Dayi a lot lately and you especially love him.
You had your first real sickness this month and it was sad and scary. You had a fever for four days and we had to take you to the doctor and get tests done. Your sleeping and eating got a little messed up and are still not totally back to normal. Thankfully, you are healtby now and it wasn't too serious.
You actually give us hugs now and put your nose to our nose. Sometimes you try to bite our noses and if we protest, you laugh and laugh like it's the funniest thing that has ever happened. You laugh and smile so much! All the time! When daddy comes home from work you are so glad to see him that you flail about franticly and squeak and squeal until he comes to snuggle you and then you squeal some more.
Sweet girl, when Daddy and Anne look back on these days, we are going to remember them as some of the sweetest and happiest ever. We keep thinking how it couldn't be better than this, that you couldn't possibly get any more adorable than you are right now. You love to dance and sometimes, when daddy comes home from work, we turn on music and daddy holds you and the three of us dance and clap and sway all over the house. You love it and laugh and squeal with happiness and it is so precious that your daddy says that if you saw a scene like that in a movie you would think it was fake. Thank you for bringing such joy into our lives baby girl.
Love,
Anne and Daddy
