At Kamelya's school they did a traditional Montessori birthday celebration where they had her symbolically walk around the sun for every year of her life and then blow out candles for each year while her Daddy told her school all about what happened to all through her life. Afterwards, the kids sang Happy Birthday to her in English, Arabic, Spanish and Turkish and then we all had cupcakes and some playtime outside. It was a really sweet ritual. Matt and I got a bit emotional, Kamelya really enjoyed it and even Kaan behaved himself!
