Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my mom and to Nene and to me! Happy mother's day also to Jane and Amina, whose babies arrived while we were in Turkey. And to Tara and Sarah who will both be mamas soon. And a special happy mother's day wish to someone who waited a long time to be pregnant and is now expecting a baby boy. What great news to hear first thing in the morning on mother's day.

My day was lovely. Matt, as he always does on these sorts of occasions, made it special for me. Despite having gotten home from the airport very late the night before, he went out early in the morning and got me special treats - an orchid plant and delicious fruit and my favorite chocolate. After a delicious breakfast and some restful times, we went out into the sunshine, planting seeds and tending to flowers in our little garden. Kamelya, although a little jetlagged, was as sweet as ever.

I am thankful to my Kamelya girl for making me a mother. I can't imagine anything better than this. Stay tuned for more pictures and stories from Turkey later this week.
